Stretching from Waitemata Harbour on the Pacific Ocean to the Manukau Harbour on the Tasman Sea, the Coast to Coast Walkway in Auckland takes you across the entire width of the country in 4 to 5 hours on the narrow stretch of land that forms the Auckland isthmus.
If you’re new to Auckland, you’ll get to discover the city’s famous landmarks and well-preserved volcanic cones that dot the trail, including Albert Park, Auckland Domain, Mount Eden, and Maungakiekie One Tree Hill.
Those who know the city well still adore the brilliant ocean and harbour views at both ends of the trail and the big city downtown vibes, green parks, and stately crater summit lookouts in-between.
I recommend walking this trail south to north and finishing the walk off with sunset views and delicious Asian fusion cuisine at Hello Beasty in Viaduct Harbour.
